TARGET MARKETS

The Critter Control brand operates throughout North America. Current target markets are in areas with urban population centers of 200,000+ people in a given territory, which normally consists of two to four counties. Select markets are now available in the U.S. and Canada.

LIMITATIONS OF COMPETITORS

Competition is divided into four main categories:

  1. Traditional pest control companies deal primarily with insects and some rodents. Most do not have the tools, equipment, time or knowledge to deal with large vertebrate pests.
  2. There are tens-of-thousands of individual nuisance animal control trappers around the country. They usually do not have the licenses, permits or insurance necessary to provide full-service animal control to the public.
  3. Municipal animal control officers primarily deal with dogs and cats, and are generally available only Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  4. Government wildlife damage control consists primarily of people who handle agricultural damage complaints.

TRADEMARK AND PATENT PROTECTION

Critter Control, Inc. registered the Critter Control® trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, application S.N.678,577 in 1988, and was issued a certificate of 'uncontestability' in 1993. Critter Control also holds trademarks for Critter Chatter®, Protecting People, Property and Wildlife®, Eco-Wise Pest Management® and our Raccoon Logos.

Training & Support

WE USE SIMULATED ENVIRONMENTS FOR TRAINING

26,000+ SQ FT

Our Critter Control® Learning Center, a multi-million dollar training facility in Atlanta, is the wildlife control industry's state-of-the-art distance and hands-on training center. The center's approach to learning includes classes, field learning, and an interactive internet-based system that reaches employees worldwide.

HANDS-ON TRAINING

The 26,000 plus-square-foot facility includes simulated environments for hands-on training during classroom instruction for all types of trainees.

The training environments include an outdoor pavilion and a full-size house.

ENVIRONMENTS

The training environments also have a commercial kitchen, bakery, hotel room, hospital room, locker room, pharmacy, restaurant, supermarket, warehouse, dining room, bar, garden center, and roof on grade. These areas help trainees acquire an integrated wildlife control approach to service delivery, ensuring that wildlife damage is managed by the most economical means, and with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.

These areas help trainees acquire an integrated wildlife control approach.

TWO AREAS

The first area has more than 50 learning stations, which represent various foundation types and construction materials commonly encountered by wildlife control specialists in the workplace. Learners identify construction elements, avenues for wildlife entry, conditions conducive to infestations, and treatment challenges.

The second area is a slab structure for practicing vertical drilling, horizontal drilling, and liquid/foam application.

Training at the Critter Control® Learning Center will make sure that you are able to head off wildlife problems and ensure the long-term success of your service.

VETFRAN — Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative

Founded in 1991, VetFran is a strategic initiative of the International Franchise Association and the IFAFoundation. The mission of VetFran is two-fold:

  • To educate both veterans and franchisors about the unique match between the skills and aptitude of entrepreneurial veterans and the demands and opportunities of being a franchisee. Our research and experience have shown that veterans make great franchisees and that the business model is a gateway to small business ownership, prosperity and success for our nation’s heroes.
  • The second aim is to facilitate the transition of veterans into franchising by encouraging franchisors to offer discounts and incentives to veterans on the one hand, and to assemble resources, tools and a database of franchising opportunities for veterans on the other.

IFA — INTERNATIONAL FRANCHISE ASSOCIATION

Critter Control is a member of the International Franchise Association. The IFA provides information to all members on franchise development, national and state policies, international expansion, financial management, franchisor and franchisee relations and many other topics important to the industry. As a Critter Control franchisee, you can become a member of the IFA at no additional cost to you. As a member, you also have the opportunity to participate in interest groups on the IFA website. Membership also gives you the opportunity to keep up on events such as the Franchise Business Network meetings that meet in more than 30 cities around the country, where you can meet with other franchisees from different franchise systems. Your opportunity for education and interaction with other franchisees and franchisors outside of your industry will offer you fresh ideas and insight on how to run your business.
